Postcards

Posted by Carol on Tuesday, 28 April, 2009

I got some great quality postcard paper today to make some postcards of my paintings, which I think will be a great way for everyone to get some low-cost art prints!

Unfortunately my printer’s finally given up the ghost, but not before I managed to print a couple off to see how it will look – and I’m very pleased with the result:

Once my replacement printer arrives, I’ll put these up on the site to buy as singles and in packs.

Another spirit jump

Posted by Carol on Monday, 27 April, 2009

Time for another spirit jump!  This time, I’m trying to lift the spirits of a lady who’s fighting leukemia.  She loves chocolate, so I’ve sent her a chocolate & peppermint handmade soap!

Three spirit jumps

Posted by Carol on Sunday, 26 April, 2009

I did another three spirit jumps again today:

This jigsaw was went to a lady who is fighting cancer.  She loves horses, so I asked my sister-in-law (an artist who ALSO loves horses) if she had any drawings or paintings of horses that she could send me.  She sent this one across to me by email and I printed it onto a jigsaw!

The next gift was for another cancer fighter.  I put together a pendant with a selection of gemstones, so she could change which one she was wearing to reflect her mood.

And, finally, the third gift was for a 14 year old cancer fighter – I thought these bright cheery soaps might lift her spirits!

Neon waxes

I’ve just ordered some neon waxes to try out!  Think they might be interesting – especially on the black painting card.

So, watch out for some neon beeswax art coming soon!

My own exhibition???!

I have a wonderful friend called Paul who has his own laser gaming place called Dark Ocean.  Paul has very kindly offered to let me have some space in his waiting area to show my artwork!

We’ve still to iron out the fine details, but it’s very exciting!!

My first spirit jump!

Posted by Carol on Thursday, 23 April, 2009

I recently joined Spirit Jump as a gift giver and sent off my first jump last week!

The recipient had recently lost her sister to Leukemia so I sent her a little hand-decorated tin full of my handmade ginger fragranced soaps, which are all shaped like stars, hearts and flowers.  Hopefully it’ll help to lift her spirits.

It’s the tin at the bottom-left of this picture that I sent:

18th April ‘09: Dunfermline April Craft Fair

Posted by Carol on Monday, 20 April, 2009

I shared a table with Corrigan Cards at the Dunfermline Craft Fair in April.  This was the first fair organised by http://www.craftfairsscotland.co.uk in Dunfermline and I’d say it was a great success!  There was a steady footfall for all 6 hours of the event and a great variety of crafts on offer.

Although I’ve taken my handmade soaps to craft fairs in the past, this was the first time I’d taken any of my artwork to a craft fair.  I was absolutely thrilled with the feedback I received from those who spent time looking through my work and also delighted to sell a few pieces, including my very first commission. :)
